A: Our wood range is made from a choice of SOLID Basswood, (Artwood moisture resistant), Phoenix wood or Custom Craft, our outdoor aluminum range is made from powder coated aluminum.

Q: What sizes do the shutters come in?
A: Our shutters are custom made to fit your specific opening. All measurements are done on site by one of our staff.

Q: What is the lead time from placement of order?
A: Our lead time is 6-8 weeks.

Q: Are you able to install shutters in Arches or do special shapes?
A: Yes we are, we able to do Arches, bay windows, French doors and most angled windows.

Q: Can I automate the shutters?
A: Yes you can. We have automated blades that open and close at the press of a button. This is great from double volume windows.

Q: Do you have a 'tilt rod' or 'clearview'?
A: We can supply both, the choice is yours and no extra cost.

Q: What colours do the shutters come in?
A: We offer 36 hand stained colours, with 16 hand sprayed paints to choose from. Signature Shutters is also able to match your plascon/Dulux colour chart.

Q: What is the guarantee on the shutters?
A: We offer a 2 year guarantee on our shutters.

Q: Where are the shutters made?
A: The shutters are imported from our factory overseas. Your order is made in less than a week and then shipped to South Africa. Signature Shutters updates the centuries-old craft of making shutters in our award-winning manufacturing facility. This 1.5 million square-foot, state-of-the-art plant is dedicated to handcrafting shutters - and bringing the best to your home.

Q: Do you make external shutters?
A: We have a Armour shutter range made from Aluminum and are busy developing a wooden external range expected end of May 2010.

Q: What happens if a shutter blade is broken?
A: We will fly new blades specific the broken panel in within 4 days.

Q: Can I put shutters in my bathroom or in a shower?
A: Artwood is a man-made product developed for, but not restricted to, moisture area applications. It is made using a timber core, and is encased in a synthetic product called ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene). It is useful for moisture area applications such as bathrooms, kitchens, laundries etc.,

Q: Can you put shutters in windows and doors?
A: Yes, we have hinged shutters for windows, bi fold shutters for doors & room dividers and sliding shutters for windows and doors.

Q: Do your shutters come with frames?
A: Signature Shutters has 8 different frames to choose from. This will enhance the look of the shutters, reduce light, hide any builders imperfections.

Q: How much light do the shutters block?
A: Our shutter doors are rebated, meaning that they overlap in the middle, this allows no light to enter. Signature Shutters supplies frames with all hinged windows which reduces light significantly. Shutters do not create a block out effect, 80% light block. There is no direct sunlight, just a warm slight glow between the closed blades.

Q: What lover sizes do you offer?
A: Signature Shutters offers three different louver sizes. 63mm, 89mm and 11omm blade sizes.

Q: Are the shutters burglar proof?
A: Signature Shutters supplies Armour Shutters that are made from Aluminum and are a full security product. The wood shutters are not, we can supply locking mechanisms but it is not a burglar proof product.

Q: Who installs the shutters?
A: We have our own in-house installation team that has over 8 years experience with measuring and installing shutters.

Q: Who takes the measurements?
A: Our staff at Signature Shutters are trained to take final measurements and we provide free quotations.

Q: Is track required for bi-fold or door openings?
A: We supply a top track covered by a wooden pelmet with a bottom track to glide the shutters open and closed. We are able to leave out a bottom track and install locking pins instead.

Q: How do you put the track on the carpet/floor/tile?
A: Signature shutters installs the track on top of the floor when the client is happy to do so. We can also recess track by cutting out the floor or tiles.
